About me
I enjoy baking with a special penchant for yeast breads and take great pleasure in the presentation of a 3-layer cake. I have hundreds of cookbooks from vintage to new, plus boxes of clippings that have got to be organized one of these days. When I'm not in the kitchen, I'm most likely watching an old movie or spoiling my cats. (I am not organizing those clippings, darn it!)

Thaks for being my cooking friend.

Hi! If you want to know Italian cuisine, please check out my web site www.roma-gourmet.com dedicated to Rome and Italian cuisine and let me know if you like it :)

Thanks for the friend invite! Like you, I have scads of cookbooks and what seemed like a million clipped recipes. I finally took two days and organized the clipped ones in 3-ring binders from Walmart. They have a binder (Wilson Jones Premium) that opens with just the lightest touch of your finger and comes in many sizes. You need this feature when you have lots of stuff to organize. I taped the recipes onto plain white paper, using both sides. If the clippings were delicate, I put the sheet inside a clear plastic sleeve, also very inexpensive. Separate binders for sweet stuff and regular meals. I think I have a hidden streak of obsessive compulsive disorder! :-))

Thanks for being my new cooking buddy - I like all your recipes and look forward to anything else you might post.

Aaaahhh! That is soooo sweet! It sounds like your Mom would be proud! I use to make things all the time that my Grampa and gramma would enjoy. It was cute because grampa would start making suggestions... :)

You sound amazing!! I also collect cookbooks and recipes...ok, honesty...if it looks like a recipe, I'm keeping it! I can't try everything but I can't get rid of it either because it could be something that is sooo good that I won't believe I never made it sooner! Yes, it's an obsession, but it looks like I'm not alone when I come to this site! I am sooo gonna try your crusty peach cobbler by this weekend! I have been hungry for peach anything and this recipe sounds awesome! :D

Hi Cooky. Thank you for the friend invitation. I really think that I'm going to enjoy this website. Since you love to bake yeast breads, check out the blog A Year in Bread, it's pretty much a primer on baking, but you may get some good recipes out of it too!

Hey Cookie,

Yogurt Biscuits
I plan to try this recipe as well as, your recipe for yogurt. I have never made yogurt, however, your recipe sounds simple enough for me to try it. Thanks for sharing it.

Crusty Peach Cobbler
Cooky, I'm so grateful to have found this recipe. For years I've sought a cobbler recipe like my mom's, which had thin dumplings baked inside the fruit. Your's is the first r

Lap Salad
Great salad, people loved it, no left overs. I added sesame seeds to the dressing and added a little more vinegar and sugar. I'm going to try a little coriander next time.
