About me
I learned to love food around the time when i was 11... i used to hate anything other than noodles, pasta, pizza or meat dishes... coming from a girl whose Filipino heritage and background makes it hard to get away from all sorts of "strange" (depends on what you base "strange" on) and wonderful dishes such as "pinakebet" (veggie dish including bitter-melon), "pata tim" (pig's feet in a sweet and savory sauce) and "balut" (steamed duck-egg with half-developped chick), not being adventurous with taste was a downfall... one day i got home starving from school and didn't realize i had downed two platefuls of the dreaded "pinakbet" until the very last spoonful... i was smart enough to think that if i had liked this dish, perhaps i would like other things i had once disliked. so nowadays, i try everything that people prepare... i may not always like it, but i will try. at home, i'm the foodie. the one who reads foodblogs, hunts down recipes, bugs people for their secret ingredients...
