About me
My most favorite pass-time is cooking. The kitchen is where I feel most comfortable and can spend the entire day in the kitchen with no complaints. I cooked my first "home cooked" meal at the age of 12; my mother worked in the evenings and one day she called and said "I need you to cook dinner tonight." Of course I was like "oh but badub ah umm badub...OK." I called one of my cousins for suggestions and my first gourmet (ok so it was gourmet to me) was meatloaf and mashed potatoes! A great accomplished feat for a 12 year old and my father loved it! But he could have been a little partial ya think?! I haven't stopped cooking yet and it's some 20something (ok plus a few more) years later. Now I bake like there is no tomorrow. My family is not big on sweets, so I bake just to bake. I love trying new recipes and try to (try to) cook something different every chance I get. I guess you can say that I inherited the gene because my mother used to cook for dinner parties..now I have all of her cook books and recipes - so I have thousands! In fact, I have been kicking around the idea of starting a catering business and the more I think about it, the more I want to do it. It's a big time dream and I plan to follow it through! So I'm open to suggestions and welcome any and all advice! Keep cooking! C~
