About me
I'm a 55 year old yoga and pilates teacher. I used to teach English as a Second Language but decided to follow my heart and do what I always loved. I've been practicing yoga for over 15 years and I started Pilates in 2004 after recovering from a long illness. It took me a year to get my certifications and it seemed like I didn't cook much. So I also like things that are quick and easy to cook. I love cooking. I especially like recipes that aren't too high in fat. I love veggies and it seems that many recipes just don't have enough of them I used to run everyday but I have just had two back surgeries - Advanced arthritis. So no more running. And while I'm recovering from the last surgery I have all this time on my hands. And the net is so much fun. :-)

Hi Darlene, I am pretty sure that under Lebanese law, if your partner isn't crazy about garlic, it is grounds for divorce... LOL

Yes in the Lebanese version, we use a lot of whole garlic cloves scattered throughout the Cabbage roll dish. We also put a little cinnamon in the meat and some mint in the tomato sauce.

We don't usually put garlic in the meat though. Thank you for giving me the idea...;-)~ Jim

Yes, it is something that I have not tried yet, however some people add sugar in pasta sauce, so I guess it can be quite nice.


I see you love yoga what a nice way to live it is so therapeutic for me especially restorative poses.

Hi Dar, Actually I was wondering How it would taste chilled with maybe a Yogurt style dressing. By the look of your recipes, I would say that our taste buds are on the same page...;-)~~ If you like healthy low fat veggies and are feeling adventurous, you should check out my Purslane and Yogurt salad.. A couple of things on this recipe -
1) The butter measurement is off - I used 1 1/2 cups of butter and it was swimming in butter - 1 1/2 STICKS of butter is plenty.
