About me
I come from the most bizarre cooking background. That is to say, I grew up being third child, and only first child is taught to cook. Until Mom went back to work, then I became skilled at hamburgers and Italian sauce. In my late 30's, I started working from home, hubby started working out of the home, and so I took over the cooking. Lo and behold, I can cook! Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I've worked with kids with autism for so long that I've become very familiar with special diets. So I can cook a yummy meal for vegans, people with allergies to anything, gluten-free, casein-free, low-fat, low-carb, whatever. I've recently come to the conclusion that my daughter has a wheat and/or gluten intolerance, so I'm shifting away from gluten. Although this isn't overly daunting, it does mean that I have to learn more recipes that don't use bread or pasta as a base. I love to bake desserts - this is really my forte!
