Of coarse for me this has been ongoing for many years, as I am in my forties. Initially, I cooked all of the traditional red sauce recipes that my mom, dad and grandmother taught me. But...as time went on, I did begin to teach myself other pasta dishes that did not mainly consist of red sauce. Any way, I'm from New York, but have grown up here in South Carolina due to a job change my dad had when I was 12. He's now retired, but was a pastry chef from some of New York's finest restaurants, and bakeries. Now you can why I too have a tooth for all things sweet...especially chocolate! He's been teaching me the fine art of baking for several years now, and just as in childhood, we still crank-out a few pasta dishes several times a month!
Sorry to ramble, but it was really neat to read about the foods you were interested in because they are so much like mine! How about cheesecake? It's second only to chocolate desserts for me. Cheesecakes have been my main focus though, as in the beginning, they posed quite a challenge to me. So, I'm working on perfecting my Cheesecake skills.
I hope you'll share some recipes with me, and I'll post some that hopefully you will enjoy as well.
