About me
Cooking calms me, so I do a lot of it! I cook with the very freshest ingredients, preferably something that I just picked from my own garden - or from a local farmer's garden. I collect cookbooks (over 300), spanning from 1841 to current, many are rare collectibles. Being allergic to many commercial preservatives, I now can my own pickles and salsas, pizza sauce, relishes - you name it, if I can preserve it, I will try!! You will see my recipes will be all over the place, a lot of Amish cooking, a lot of Mediterranean cooking, a lot of fancy-schmancy, and lots of appetizers! However, you will rarely see desserts - unless they involve vegetables or ways around using regular milk... the oven and I don't see eye to eye if there is a lot of sugar involved... I can bake yeast breads with the best of them though! I have never heard of an onion or garlic addiction, but I truly cannot remember a day when I did not ingest something from the allium family... maybe a 'garliholic' ? :)
