About me
I am a Journeyman Chef in Alberta, Canada but I haven't worked in a kitchen in 16 years. I still love to cook but only at home. Someday I wouldn't mind having a small catering business that specializes in appetizers and desserts. The fun things . I make a killer dark traditional Christmas fruit cake that is a friend's gransmother's recipe. Lately I have experimented with adding pecans and using bourbon instead of sherry for the soaking.

Look forward to trying your easy chicken sate

HI again - thank you for your comments! The wings have a great sweet/salty flavor (I love that combo) - very easy to prepare, which is always a bonus, too...enjoy!

Hey eirika, yes, salt water will keep fruits from browning, too - and a nice trick to know if you don't happen to have lemons on hand, since we always have salt handy. The trick is to not let the fruit sit in the salted water too long (you don't need much salt added) - you don't want the fruit to start absorbing the saltiness. We always used this method when we canned sliced apples (or any fruits, etc, that brown when peeled). This site is GREAT for learning new tips and tricks...like the pie crust tip I learned from you a couple weeks ago!! Happy cooking...Krum

Thanks, I can't take the credit for the recipe my Mom found it in a newspaper ages ago. She changed it up with the pears and almond extract combo and that is a real winner in

Thanks and me too. You'll probably appreciate the story about when I tried to control my love of Snickers candy bars by freezing them, only to discover they are wonderful fro
