I am a fellow Rockford resident. As I was perusing this web site and I came across your page and your recommendation of the Sahara Palace. We went out to dinner last night and WOW what a great surprise. It is truly a great little gem in Rockford. As per your recommendation I tried the Baba Ghanoush and a few other things and everything was great. They even gave us free Arabic (Turkish style) coffee at the end of our meal. Many Thanks for sharing this great place.

I've been trying to get my 5-year-old son to snap out of his predictable "kid's menu"-inpired picky mode. So far I've gotten him to enjoy onions, sweet potatoes, cous cous, and an occasional bite of lettuce. I'm still working on fun stuff like garlic, bell peppers, olives, brown mustard, tomatoes, etc. (Hey, it doesn't hurt to try!) Anyhow, I'll rustle up some of my usuals for you to try. I'd love to see what interesting additions or subtractions you come up with. Chow!
