About me
Hi all ....i am a gal in her late 20s from Pakistan and i have a pretty good sense of how to cook my native food but thats as far as my cooking talent goes. Our food is mostly curry based eaten with rice or Roti ( whole wheat pita bread made fresh in every household at each meal time).Veggies, lentils and pulses, and meats ( mostly chicken and mutton i-e goat meat , beef is cooked on rare occasions due to its high cholestrol/ fat content ,atleast in my family , fish is reserved as speciality as its expensive)., I want to broaden my horizons (here to learn) but i dont think i could take raw/ rare cooked meats like sushi and stuff.... :) because i am a bit sensitive as to smell....like we ususally cook meat with garlic and ginger till the smell is cooked out of it .....that raw smell....so i have a low level of tolerance when it comes to smelly food .........but i still wish i could say that i have an adventurous spirit .......but you would be like " yeah sure!".....right? :) Food is intriguing.....the ancients, in all cultures healed and cured with it....today we know so much less than our elders knew.....our curries and sauces come from cans and bottles......flavours enhanced with flavouring agents... so on an so forth. I hope to learn and share with my fellow foodies anything about food that is delicious and tempting .....also anything that can soothe and heal and bring good health.Cya.PS: and i would love to learn how to bakes cakes and muffins and other fancy desserts :)

Thanks for the comment on my pics! I have to tell you, though, I'm not a photographer at all! I found a quick cheat in my Office Picture Manager that fixes all my pictures. I just have to plate on a white plate and a little button in the program fixes up all my pics. Easy! Thanks again. - Natalie

Hi I will print here the explanation of a slow cooker from wikepedia:A slow cooker consists of a lidded round or oval cooking pot made of glazed ceramic or porcelain, surrounded by a housing, usually metal, containing a thermostatically controlled electric heating element. The lid is often transparent glass and is not hermetic. The ceramic pot, or a crock pot, acts as both a cooking container and a heat reservoir. Slow cookers come in a variety of sizes, from 500 ml (16 oz) to 7 liters (quarts). Due to the placement of heating elements (generally at the bottom and often also partway up the sides), there is usually a minimum recommended liquid level to avoid uncontrolled local heating.
