My real cooking debut was in sixth grade when my mom went back into the workforce and I was tasked nightly to "start supper". She would come in and take over as soon as she got in the door. We were a pretty good team, and I learned lots that way. My high school chemistry project was on reactive yeast...garnering a nice buttery "A", which was sorely needed and there was nothing "crumby" about it. ;o)
