hi!!! Thanks for looking at my million dollar chicken recipe. You asked about chutney. I know this is a difficult thing 2 get in some places. It is a type of sauce made with fruit. If it is available where you live youll find it where the cethcup are or just ask for assistance. This recipe is really worh trying. Substitute with a thick sweet and sour sauce if you cant find chutney. Let me know

I saw your post on Essentialingredients and wanted to say, you live in No. CA so do I. I'm going to assume you might have a farmer's market during growing season and highly encourage you to visit and ask questions of the farmers. Find out about leeks and shallots, both of the onion family and available at most supermarkets these days. Don't be afraid to take something home, taste it and try something new, or look for a recipe using it as an ingredient. The world of cooking is open to you, if you are curious and brave!

See Mrcooksalot reply or let me repeat it: Mexican flour made from corn, treated with lime. It's what they would make corn tortillas from. You can find it in most grocery stores now.

OH NO! I'm sorry you missed out on a recipe because of that! Hopefully, you'll give it another try! Sometimes I am frustrated with my inability to find certain things in the grocery and/or the outrageous prices of certain ingredients for recipes. That's when I like to do a little experimentation and modification - that's a lot of the fun of cooking!! I hope you enjoy it - "real" cooking is so much fun! Make sure you try out the shallots - yummy!!! :)

Sometimes that's what I do too - cut the steak and then put it back on the grill - but a thermometer IS a better way to go especially with chicken... don't want to get sick! Thanks for your comment about the recipe!
