My Hungarian parents gave me all kinds of fantastic meals. The pig's gel was one of my favorites and I never appreciated how fortunate I was.

I make this with a trimmed loaf of white bread, cubed, put in pot, with chopped onion, salt, pepper. Throw in the bay leaf and cloves or put them in a cheesecloth bag for easy removal. Cover it all with the milk and slow cook to a chewy homogenized consistency. It's more of a stuffing than a sauce, I suppose, but I call it bread sauce anyway.

Just made a small version of this and loved it. Next I'll be taking it to a Scottish-themed potluck in just a few days. I did use a bag of shredded cabbage that also had carrots in it and I added some chopped onion and used fat-free shredded cheese. I will definitely make this again.......

Potato is not spelled with an "e" at the end. And they are called "game chips" in England because they are in fact served with game.....

I actually order the applewood smoked sea salt online from this company, who I love! They offer free promotions when you order, and there shipping cost is very reasonable. Here's the website>>>> http://www.myspicesage.com/

There are 3 postings of it on here. They are easy to make, keep for 6 weeks, and the longer they sit the better they are. I serve them with dinner too. If you are still in the muffin mood it's a really good pick. Thanks, Kim

Your recipes are fun and interesting. My daughter found a muffin she likes and I can find no other muffin to temp her. Ashley LOVES apple streusel muffins. Maybe I will find one in your list of recipes to change her mind =). Happy baking!
