About me
I'm a retired pharmacist living the Phoenix, Az area. I was born and raised in Kansas but have lived and worked all over the country. My family is German on my father's side and Pennsylvania Dutch on my mother's side so I grew up around a lot of good cooks. I tried to gather as many of these heritage recipes as I could but it wasn't easy since most were not written down anywhere. I have a sweet tooth so anything with chocolate, blueberries, lemons, cherries, etc. gets my attention. Cakes, pastries, and pies are extremely difficult for me to pass up. I love taking desserts to gatherings more than anything else. The praise comes easier on a dessert......I think it's the sugar. I am already having a great time looking at the recipes here and look forward to talking to many of you in the near future.

They produce a lot of blueberries around here and we have found a major farm that we can buy the "culls" from for about $1.00 a pound! I don't know what they see wrong with them but I am thankful. We buy a lot of them and freeze them for recipes :-)

Thanks for the 5 on the tiramisu. It's delicious!

Thanks for the info on Frangelico Liqueur ... it being hazelnut flavored. That makes me even more interested in your chicken dish. Hazelnut white sauce and pecan encrusted chicken.
