About me
52 year old married woman, mother to one boy and 1 girl, living in the beautiful island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean coast of Spain. I love family and friends, cooking, patchwork, exercise, animals and gardening. We have 3 adopted cats from vet, 2 more rescued from the streets and 2 adopted dogs from shelter. Here in Mallorca we have the typical Mediterranean style food: lots of veggies and fruit, beautiful seafood and fish, and a traditional home-style cooking. Have a dear friend from South Carolina, now living in North Pole, Alaska, from whom I learned lots of American recipes from chowders to cheesecakes and I try to keep them growing since then. Because of my husband´s job (he is a retired IBERIA Airlines flying attendant) I have visited many countries around the world and have traveled many times to the States. I consider Alaska my dreamland (at least in summer time...) You can find my Spanish blog "PAN Y VARIOS" here: http://panyvarios.blogspot.com

You are correct Minnesota has a pretty harsh winter, but I've lived here all my life so I've adjusted. It gives us something to talk about, and if it gets too cold we just stay inside. People who live in Texas and Arizona stay inside in the summer when it's too hot. I volunteer teaching English language to immigrants and refugees, many are from Latin American and East African. It's really an adjustment for them, not ever having to buy boots, gloves and warm winter coats before. Many see snow for the first time. Our summers are beautiful, we have over 10,000 lakes in Minnesota. Some people who live in the city are able to have a second home on a lake in northern Minnesota. A summer filled with boating, swimming and fishing. Thanks for sharing your cooking talent

Inmaculada, I looked at your food blog, it is superb - so many wonderful recipes! I have only posted 4 here so far!! Seriously, it is a really professional production, I am going to spend many happy hours there. I can recommend it to everyone, the photos are beautiful! Even though my Spanish is not very good I can get 'the gist' and I have a very good English/Spanish dictionary too. Thank you for your kind offer of translation, I will probably take you up on that sometime. My husband Tom helps too -he studied Spanish (but that was a long time ago!!)

Thanks for accepting my friendship invite! It sounds like a lot of fun with all the animals! I'm going to have a go at some of your recipes I think. They sound tasty and also good for you, which is what I'm always on the hunt for!
Love sitbynellie

What's on the menu for dinner?

I guesse there are similar dishes throughout the world, like dumplings (they are in Russia, Poland, China, US, etc.) Well, they sure don't have tortillas and poella in Russia, LOL.
Anyway, thanks for accepting the invite, look forward to chatting with you!

Glad to hear of all the animals you have taken in. You have some amazing recipes. Mallorca looks like an incredible place to live!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Inmaculada! Enjoy the holidays :)
Leila
