INVISIBLECHEF,
IT'S WATER & SUGAR IN THE GLASS WITH A STRING TIED TO THE PENCIL & A LONG WAIT. EVEN BETTER WERE X-MAS COOKIES THAT WE MADE WITH A NON-EDIBLE DOUGH & SMASHED UP COLORED HARD CANDY FILLING THE EMPTY AREAS OF DOUGH. THEN BAKED TILL THE CANDY MELTED & LOOKS LIKE STAINED GLASS. THE TRICK IS TO MAKE YOUR DOUGH AS THIN AS POSSIBLE & FILL WITH THE SMASHED COLORED HARD CANDY. BAKE, COOL & THREAD DENTAL FLOSS OR NYLON THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE ORNAMENT YOU'VE MADE BEFORE BAKING!!!!!!!
THEY LOOK GREAT ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE & ARE BEAUTIFUL HANGING FROM THE WINDOW. THAT'S WHY THE DOUGH'S NOT EDIBLE!!!!!! THEY DON'T BREAKDOWN @ THE SPEEDY RATE SUGAR COOKIES DO.
I SAW YOUR POST ON TALULHA'S (I SPELLED HIS NAME INCORRECTLY, SORRY T.) WHEN I WAS LOOKING AT HIS RED CRYSTALS. HOW BEAUTIFUL WILL THESE BE ON THE X-MAS TREE???? DO NOT LET YOUR SON EAT THE COOKIES I WAS SPEAKING OF PLEASE. THOUGH I IMAGINE WITH SOME MOLLY-CODDLING YOU COULD MAKE EDIBLE VERSIONS. I JUST REMEMBER THAT IT TAKES QUITE SOME HEAT TO MELT THE COLOR CANDY. MAYBE IF YOU REALLY PULVERIZE IT THE SUGAR COOKIES WON'T BURN. GOOD LUCK & DROP BY ANY TIME.

I noticed a comment by you about gluten free cooking. I can't eat gluten and would very much like to stay in touch and learn some of your recipes and ideas.

Marie how have you been it has been a long time since I have written you or seen any recipes from you.
Hope you are doing well.

Michael

Thank you for the invite

Where did you go? I miss you too.

Hi Marie...If you still visit, would you come back. You were really missed here.

Happy July 4th!
Have a good one this weekend! - Cheers, Leah

Hi Marie,

Can you share with me the recipe you mention from the Moosewood Cookbook? My girlfriend loves a recipe from an edition, which is something like a Cheese Log, but it isn't in the edition she has now. I'm hoping to find that and to be able to surprise her by preparing it for her on her birthday (or maybe our anniversary). I hope this one is it. Thanks!! (richard -- almanacs)

This sounds wonderful! I don't have a bamboo steamer, but do have a metal one that you insert into a pot. Thanks for sharing!
