About me
My name is Amy aka the "Neighborhood Grill Queen" and I am from a little Norwegian Viking town in WA called Poulsbo. Poulsbo is west of Seattle across the Puget Sound. My former neighbor who moved to PA a couple years ago pronounced me the Neighborhood Grill Queen when they began eating more at my house than at theirs. Everyone knows that come May begins grill time at my place and there are no invitations needed, just stop by when you see the smoke and grab a plate. I am 40 years old and live with my partner of 15 years and my 5 year old daughter, Jaden (hence the nickname Jadosmom). Born and raised in the SF Bay Area of CA moved to WA in 1993. I also breed Rat Terriers. I have 4 dogs + 4 pups from a current litter, 3 cats, and "Sammy the Hammy" a hamster. My cooking specialty is really BBQ, but my experience ranges from good ol down home hearty meals like Meatloaf and Pot Roast, to some real yummy casserols, and some Gourmet stuff. I really don't go by recipe, but rather do my own thing from a variety of recipes on a particular dish i.e., a little bit o' this, a little bit o' that. I think that's what really makes a dish unique and yummy. My mother & grandmother were from Spain, so I have learned some wonderful "Spanish" dishes (not Mexican), and my father grew up with an Italian family so he passed on some good authentic Italian dishes. My favorite is Mexican and I could eat it almost every night.
