About me
I've loved to cook since I was a teenager, but have not always had the time to spend on fancy meals. As a working mother for over 30 years, I've always looked for recipes with fewer ingredients or that are quick to put together, but also have a little wow factor. Lots of life changes in 2008! I'm a technical writer for a software firm, and my husband runs a line crew for an electric coop. My husband was planning to retire this year, but with all the other things going on in our lives, he decided retirement would have to wait. Our son teaches physics, and his wife teaches science at the same high school. They just had our first grandchild on Mother's Day 2008, a beautiful little girl! Our oldest daughter was married in June and is planning to go into Optometry. Our youngest daughter graduated with a nursing degree and is now an RN in the NICU. She was our last at home, and is now living about 3 hours away. I have to say, I don't like the empty nest! She is going to be married in October at Disney World, which has been her dream for quite awhile. We also have four adorable and loving kitties. They all came to us as strays that our kids brought home over the years. My avatar is a picture of our Little Kitty, who survived a serious frostbite. The picture shows her favorite sleeping position. Our daughters both want to have one of our kitties at their homes, but with apartments you need a doctor's statement of depression first. Well, OF COURSE you are depressed because you don't have your kitty!! Our son and wife have two kitties already.
