Hey justwe, saw your comment on my home page...yes, B&G is everywhere these days, but not so much in the mid to late 70s when we lived in MO. Now you can find it at most restaurants, but I've never tasted any up here that had the flavor the "southern" B&G has - usually tastes pretty much like flour paste with some lumps of meat in it! Foods you are missing from MY "growing up" area (Minnesota) would be from my Scandinavian heritage: Swedish Meatballs, Rice Pudding, Cardamom Toasts, Lutefisk (NEVER try to eat that stuff!), Blood Sausage, and of course, Krumkake!!!!

Hey justwe, thanks for your comments on the B&G - can't beat them for breakfast! Our oldest was born in Marshall, MO (when my husband was selling Gambles Hardware Stores "back in the day" before the Big Box retailers ran them out of existence...), then we moved to Sedalia shortly after she was born...and THAT'S where I learned to make biscuits and gravy from my friend Annie. Being a Minnesota girl, I'd never even heard of Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, or Country Ham and Red-eye Gravy...oh man, my mouth is watering just thinking of that good stuff! Anyhow, that's where we were in MO, though my husband travelled the entire state, so he knows it much better than I. Our oldest ended up in the J-school at UofM in Columbia when it was time for college...always enjoyed returning to MO!!
Enjoy your weekend...Krum

Hi, Thanks for the comment on the soup. Ya know, I never thought about putting some potatoes in it. I will definitely have to try that, have a great day and I'll talk to you soon. Ruthie
