About me
I am a country girl from Missouri. We like to grow our own garden vegetables, I am unable to be of of any help in the garden, but I do can it or freeze it. We are always giving fresh veggies away, Our neighbors and family sure love us during gardening time!! I love baking homemade bread, We aren't much on sweets but we like our bread with homemade preserves!!! I have been disabled since 1981, but don't let that slow me down any. I just have to find another way of doing things. I am in and out of a wheelchair, but still manage to bake and can and cook. I love cooking, but my tastes are mostly for country fixin's. I used to fish and hunt with my dad. I still have several guns, but not able to go in the woods anymore to do that. I still fish when I can find the time to do it. I don't have recipes, except in my head. Only use a recipe as a guideline. We have all kinds of spices in out cabinets, yes, I said cabinets!!! I have tried to grow herbs before, but not anymore, except for bunching onions ,garlic, peppermint and lemon balm. I really to making tea out of those 2. I also make fancy chocolates in the winter and the 30 day friendship cake. That is mostly what I give for Xmas. I also do embroidery work on towel and shirts for gifts.I knit, crochet , sew and I did so ceramics until we moved in this house, just don't have any place to set up my kilns or pouring table.Also I did the porcelain dolls. So canning, baking, making chocolates, knitting, crocheting and ceramics is mostly my life. Just had yet another surgery, so am teaching my husband how to work the canners !!!! He is also a great cook, but needs a recipe to go by. He mostly likes to grill. I will sit down some day and try to figure out how I cook things, and post them. I never measure much just use the pinch, dash and sprinkle way. Most people don't know what that means. Hope to get some good recipes and lots of friends on here.
