  • Enfys 2 years ago about Slow Cooked Pork Loin
I just had to come back and tell you how delicious this rub was... I used it on a pork loin roast that I slow cooked in the oven & planned to use for BBQ pork sandwiches... but after chopping it up & tasting it, my sister and I decided to use it on the sandwiches just as it was with no BBQ sauce added... it was THAT good! The only thing I did differently was not adding the cayenne pepper and that was only because I didn't have any (everything else I had on hand already)... next time the cayenne pepper will be included in the rub... thank you so much for a wonderful taste treat!

The preheat comment seemed in poor taste. Wiseass!

Hi, I would like to try this but I'm a little confused by the first step about preheating the oven. Why is this needed if the joint is going to be refrigerated for a number of hours? Can someone help? Thanks

I have this recipe on my page too, adapted from the Paula Deen version. I see you don't care for the nutmeg either. I've made this so many times for cabin guests and friends and family. It really is delicious. I have started using just about a cup less of milk, and only half and half and 5 eggs seem to be plenty. This way it is a little less custard-like and more French toast-like. I love it both ways but find that perhaps smaller children and some men prefer it a little firmer. No matter how you make it, it is very tasty.
