About me
Let's see, I love all kinds of soup, make my own yogurt, recently made bagels (awesome!), I have over 40 cookbooks, several online "recipe boxes" and loathe fast food. I'm pretty much the reverse of my grandmother--no convenience foods, nothing pre-cooked, powdered or jarred for me! I've been cooking since I was a child (ack! 25 years?)--some sort of junior cookbook my mom got me. So...I'm really comfortable in the kitchen, and frequently substitute, add or leave out ingredients. I rarely make a recipe as written, even my own! As a beginning baker, I'm finding I don't have the skills yet to pull that off with bread. I just made my first sourdough loaf, but I've got homemade pizza down.
