About me
I am admittedly a newbie to any type of online group, but thought this sounded fun. I found it by searching for a martini recipe, so that tells a little bit about me right there! ............Why no pictures of me?--Why would you want that when you can look at Johnny?!!.................... My mom was/is a Wednesday night, meatloaf type of cook - yuck- I always spit it in the bottom of my milk glass! (no offense to the meatloaf lovers out there, its more of a slam on my moms cooking creativity!) I guess that inspired me to always explore new options. Often when my family asks "What's for supper?" they get "Rocky Suprise" for an answer! If they like it (and they usually do) then I give it a name. ................ I am late 40 something, married over 22 years-yes to the same guy, and we have 3 kids; 2 boys at 17 and 20 and a daughter who is 13. We're lucky enough to enjoy living on a lake. We also have 2 dogs, a Newfie named Onyx, and an insane Weimaraner named Gunner-the odd couple. At least they always love my cooking! ............. I try to eat healthy, I do love my veggies- and occasionally repeat Weight Watchers to lose those same 20 pounds that creep back on every few years, but I love my treats too much to commit for life. What kind of fun is that anyway?! .................. I'm don't object to taking shortcuts in cooking as long as the taste is there. I like to try more involved recipes, but hate to clean up-bless my husband for taking care of that--and for indulging my Johnny obsession!! ................... I love rich & spicy, but have acid reflux, I love creamy, cheese, buttery, but need to lose 20, so what's left?--cocktails?! :) 2/09 update: I have just rejoined Weight Watchers to get rid of that extra 20 before my looming 50th birthday. Please share with me some point friendly recipes!! 4/09 update: Only 13.5 lost so far. Sometimes you just gotta splurge! 8/1/09 update: 29.5 lbs. but it is summer so who really cares! P.S. I think it is funny that Johnny only has an "8" over his head. We all know he is a perfect "10"! How do I change that for him I wonder?! LOL

Glad to be cooking buddies .Your son certainly picked a beautiful part of Australia to stay .Lismore and further towards the coast ,the Northern Rivers area ,is quite magnificent ,sub tropical in parts ,growing an amazing abundance of food .Very laid back too ,with old hippies now in their 60's everywhere at farmers markets .Also close to Byron Bay ,Australia's premier seaside escape --the most expensive too. We holiday in this area every year and had our honeymoon at a grand 100 year old guest house in Ballina ,near Lismore .
