About me
I'm a born and bred Iowa city girl, never lived on a farm except for one summer when I was a teenager and helped out a farm wife babysitting her kids while she canned fruits and vegetables and fed the farm hands. From her I got a fabulous recipe for Banana Marshallmallow cake which I will post shortly. My husband and I are brokers for a large importer and distrubuter of imported foods like cheese, olive oil, chocolate, game and pates. We get to try a lot of products and attend fancy food shows to see what the industry is doing. We love our job!

Hello, glad you enjoyed the quiche - thanks for the updates on your variations, glad it worked for you. = )

Love the banana marshmallow cake! I had to fend off the dogs while I was dropping it on the floor! Tonight I'm going to try making it with coconut covered marshmallows. I'll let you know how it comes out!

Hi Mekiess! Thank you for commenting on the recipe I submitted for Lasagna Slow Cooker Or Crock Pot Style. I love anything that makes life a little easier ;-)

Jackie says you would put your Branston Pickle on your butty with some picalilli. Translated that means on bread or a sandwich, it is a kind of chutney and so is picalilli. And to think I could speak English…..

Thanks so much for the invite! So happy to have someone close from my old home town as my cooking buddy:o)

So glad the cherry mash candy was a big hit! Funny how recipes are forgotten, but then so easily remembered. Glad you were able to finally find the chips. I'm having the same problem up here.
I was born and raised just north of you and there are so many things we would use that we can not find in our grocery store's up here and can be quite frustrating.

Welcome. I do not eat veal anymore either once I saw how the babies were raised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of my recipes are handed down from my Mom and from good friends who cook and entertain. I never ear Veal because I've seen how it is raised in confinment, however I don't have the same feelings about chickens! I've had one recipe published in a Midwestern favorites cookbook, but have never entered a contest! I don't do recipes that require a lot of handling. I like straight forward food that doesn't need to be cut into fancy shapes or arranged just so on a plate. Where I live you can obtain just about any ingredient and we shop local farmers markets when available. My husband cooks also.

Tilapia Parmesan
I'm trying this one tonight. Have it all ready, waiting for hubby to come home. Certainly sounds delicious. Love the sauce already! Although I didn't have plain ol' parmesan c

Banana Marshmallow Cake
Ok, I'm going to go and try this right now. I bought a 5lb. bag of bananas for .79 at Woodmans and I'm trying to use them up!

Tilapia Parmesan
It stays so moist and is quite delcious. Thank you

Banana Marshmallow Cake
This is one different looking cake recipe. I'm liking it very much and love the fact that the marshmallows create an icing.

Tilapia Parmesan
Looks great, I already know I like the parmesan-tilapia flavors together. I'll bet the Bay seasoning is just the thing to give it some real zest.
