About me
I'm the stay-at-home-mom of a 4 year old daughter, with a little boy due at the end of August '09 ... he was kind of a shock & it's been a rough pregnancy, but now that its almost the end -- we just can't wait to meet him! My husband is a U.S. Marine, having served in Iraq twice, currently inactive -- and home safe & sound (thank God!) I had never cooked a day in my life, and wasn't raised around too much "gourmet" (though 2 of my uncles are chefs, so a love of food / cooking must run in the family!) -- but dinner was always made and on the table growing up, so once married, I decided to at least give it a shot for my poor husband (who had never even really HAD dinner that wasn't "take-out.") Through my experimentation, & much to my surprise! -- I found cooking to be something I truly enjoy (now if I only I could learn to love the resulting dishes, as well). :-) I would LOVE to entertain more ... if I could only build up my "cooking confidence" a little! But as they say - practice makes perfect ... so here I am, game face on. ;-) As for my interests outside of the kitchen ... I love to read, see movies & theatre -- especially musicals, drink wine (heh heh), take hikes with my nature-loving husband & daughter, go to concerts & music festivals (when I have the time), shop (when I have the money), and I also consider myself an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, as well. So tickets to see a good game are always a treat! These days, however, most of my time is at home with the family, it seems. And that's fine by me!
