Hi!! Sorry I didn't get back to you right away. I'm getting everything ready for school to start this coming week. Woo Hoo!! :) Yes, I make my own fondant and have a great recipe for it that I got off of CC. It's called Michele Foster's Fondant. It tastes wonderful too! Much better than the stuff in the store. I prefer Americolor gel-paste colors, but do use Wilton from time to time also. I haven't had the oportunity to use the powders though. I don't mind the questions, so don't feel your being pesty! :)

Great! Glad to hear you joined! I know what you mean about the computer geek thing...I never thought I would be like that either. But, it's my outlet from spongebob, Dora, Diego, Blue's Clues and anything else you can think of! What's your screen name for CC (cakecentral)? I'll watch for you and send you a welcom private message (pm). :)

I was just reading your profile...you & I are very similar! I'm a stay at home mom of 5. I wish I could move where you are though! Sounds beautiful. My husband and I dream of moving to New Hampshire and opening our own B&B..on a farm. :)

Thanks so much for commenting on my cakes! I started just like you...in my kitchen goofing around and seeing what I could do. I also have no formal training. I suggest, to start, purchase some basic supplies like decorating tips, bags (I like disposable bags), paste icing colors, a couple good off set cake knives (sm & large) and a revolving cake stand...or even a lazy susan would work for now. Also, I have to give up my secret for learning so much in such a short period of time...cakecentral.com . Go there, become a member (it's free) and enjoy. You'll be addicted in a short period of time! Great pics of cakes in the gallerie too...many that are better than mine. ;)
