About me
I'm merely an adequate cook, but when I have time, I do love it, especially when I'm feeling really creative. But, right now I'm looking for recipes that will enable to me simply put food on the table, as I'll be looking after two 2-yr-olds and a 4-yr-old every day! I'm eager for suggestions that are KID-friendly, everything from Jello dishes to making our own Playdoh and Bubble Mixture, as well as healthy, nourishing soups and good, hearty meals. I'm interested in high fiber, as most kids (and adults) don't get nearly enough! I care about taste and color, so I'll be pressed for time but I don't want to sacrifice quality. On the other hand, I can't fool with one recipe ALL DAY, either! I want things that will be fun for kids to eat, to help prepare, dishes that help us celebrate the joy of each others' company! I'm a 62-year-old retired mother of two, grandmother of one, and I work part-time several nights per week. Since I'll be taking care of three little ones during the day, you can see that I have LITTLE time for lengthy preparation, etc. However, as an example, I always chop fresh veggies for soups; I chop and my little granddaughter scoops the bits into the pot. When using a mixer, she puts one hand on the mixer handle and one hand on the bowl; my hands then cover hers. We cook together and it's great fun! That's so sort of thing that I think many of you out there can help me with -- new ways to have fun with my little ones as well as providing them with nourishment! Hoping to hear from many of you! If you don't hear back right away, I'm in transition. I'm in Ireland taking care of my little grand here; then, I'll be on vacation, then back home in Ohio!

I'm an adequate cook, but not what I'd call a great cook; but I do have my "great" moments! Right now I'm interested in fast, easy, kid-friendly recipes, as soon I'll be looking after my 2-yr-old grand-daughter, 2-yr-old great niece, and 4-yr-old great nephew. I care about taste and healthfulness, so I don't want to sacrifice flavor for ease or speed. But, yet, I won't have much time to spend putting meals on the table! I really LOVE having them help me in the kitchen, and I think they really love it, too! Any suggestions? I'm eager to do a good job at this; I've already been looking after my little grand every day, but my great niece and nephew will be in my daily care while their dad in away in the Navy. So, they'll need a lot of love and support; great food really helps to convey that, don't you think? And, cooking together helps to convey that, too!
