About me
HI, I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO MY SOUL MATE FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS. I HAVE 2 GROWN SONS AND 2 BEAUTIFUL GRAND-DAUGHTERS. I STARTED COOKING WHEN I WAS ABOUT 10. MAKING COOKIES, BROWNIES AND HELPING MY MOM. I LOVE TO COOK FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I HAVE A MEDICAL RETIREMENT FROM FIBROMYALGIA AND OSTEOARTHRITIS. I HAVE HAD 3 TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENTS AND HAVE HAD MORE THAN 7 SURGERIES ON MY RIGHT KNEE FOR MRSA, (STAFF INFECTION). IF IT WASN'T FOR SOME REALLY GOOD DOCTORS AND A LOT OF PEOPLE PRAYING FOR ME I WOULD HAVE LOST MY LEG OR MY LIFE. I WAS VERY SICK AND WAS DOING MY OWN IV's AT HOME EVERYDAY. THE PUPPY YOU SEE AS MY ICON IS THE NEWEST MEMBER TO OUR FAMILY. HER NAME IS ROCKIE AND SHE IS A FOUR MONTH OLD PIT BULL. SHE IS A RESCUE DOG FROM THE VET HOSPITAL MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW WORKS AT. THERE WAS A LITER OF FIVE AND THEY WERE SICK WITH ALL KINDS OF THINGS AND THE OWNER COULD NOT AFFORD THEIR MEDICAL CARE. WE WERE NOT LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DOG AS WE HAVE 2 NOW, BUT SHE WAS SO SWEET AND BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH THAT WE FELL IN LOVE WITH HER. SHE WALKS WITH A SEVERE LIMP AS ONE LEG IS SHORTER THAN THE OTHER. SHE HAS ONE OF THE KINDEST SPIRITS I HAVE SEEN. SHE HAS BEEN A BLESSING TO US. I WILL SHARE WITH YOU ONE OF THE WORSE MEALS I HAVE EVER MADE. WHEN I WAS 16, MY MOTHER GOT A NIGHT JOB AND I HAD TO COOK FOR MY FATHER AND I. I MADE HIS FAVORITE, CHICKEN, AND I WANTED TO SERVE MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY WITH IT. I USED INSTANT POTATOES AND I DID NOT HAVE ENOUIGH. I MADE MY OWN GRAVY AND ADDED TOO MUCH FLOUR TO IT AND IT WAS MORE LIKE COOKIE DOUGH. AT DINNER MY FATHER PUT THE GRAVY ON HIS PLATE WITH A LOUD SPLAT AND POURED THE MASHED POTATOES OVER IT. ALTHOUGH HE SAID IT WAS VERY GOOD, I FELT LIKE CRYING. HE HAD SECONDS..... DAD'S ARE LIKE THAT! I MUST SAY THAT I AM VERY EMPRESSED BY THIS WEB SITE. I HAVE MET SO MANY NICE PEOPLE AND IT IS THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE THE SUCCESS OF THE WEB SITE. THANK YOU FOR WELCOMING ME AND I LOOK FOWARD TO HEARING FROM ALL OF YOU. HAPPY COOKING. PAULA

I need a brunch recipe for an adoption shower I am having Nov 14. I am looking at your Brunch Ham Puffs. Need to know if Chicken will work as well as the ham and also some reviews on this. Since this is a first time used recipe I hate to try it out on guests before I know more about it.

The VELVEETA group has hit 100 members! Thank you for being a part of it. If you haven't stopped by lately, there are so many recipes now -- come take a peek, again.

Barb

Thanks for adding me! Your Rockie is adorable. My "baby" Hunter is a rescue also. Like you, I wasn't wanting another dog, but I just couldn't NOT rescue him. It turns out that I got the BEST dog I've ever had. Thanks for rescuing Rockie; pitbulls are a special breed with a bad rep and we need more people like you to rescue and raise them right. Okay, off my soapbox now, thanks again and I can't wait to try some of your recipes!
