Retired several years ago from a 30+ year job. Cooking was always a necessity but now is a hobby. Hubby and I travel a lot in our motorhome and it can be interesting to adapt recipes to a different life style and different appli
ances. Love to try new recipes often making up my own, but never writing down what I did so that I can share. Been married over 31 years, have 1 son and 3 grandsons. Our son has inherited my love of cooking and is pretty darn good himself. A couple years ago I started experimenting with jams and oven dried tomatoes. I have a very small garden and grow tomatoes, zucchini, acorn squash and green beans mostly. Tired some jalapeno peppers but they did not really ever mature. This past summer I did 1 jar of pickles. My pickles came out pretty good so I do believe I will be seeing pickling cucumbers in my garden this coming summer. Plus lots of fresh dill. Mostly eating habits are meat and vegetables and fruit. Very little rice and bread, but I do love a good Cuban sandwich, BLTA, and jambalaya.
