loving Currently lovin': Philly. Its a city of plentiful, cheap eats, so I'll try most things once.

About me
I'm a recent graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia. I think cooking appeals to me because of the artistic nature that many dishes have- they may have many elements, they may have only one. The way they are perceived is all a matter of technique and preparation. And like art, I think food, has the power to change the way people think or perceive the world, or in some cases, is a product of how those people thought or perceived the world. I was led into cooking out of boredom the summer before my freshman year here- I'd kill time by watching the food network. Like most people, I started by watching Emeril, but found myself far more entertained and informed by watching Good Eats with Alton Brown. Soon I started trying the things I saw on the show, just as a matter of curiousity. Fast forward 4 years, I still watch it when I can, and I still try things I saw on the show, but I've begun to take the things I learned, and think "I wonder what else this can do?". I get a kick out of experimenting (sometimes to the culinary detriment of my girlfriend, hehe) and no matter what- even if it doesn't look pretty, you still get to eat it at the end.
