About me
I love to cook... and more importantly, I love to bake. as an artist, when I can, I often use food as another medium that conveys the heart through flavor. Randomness: I desperately wanted to be a pastry chef and open a coffee house as I was growing up. I grew up in this little artsy village full of craftspeople and this brilliant coffee house that firmly put this in my head. Alas, life flows where it will, and these hands are too warm to handle pastry most of the time. I am the accidental baker. My favorite thing to do is planning out these elaborate cakes that either go... very awry, or come out brilliantly. The best awry story is that of a four layer chocolate would be torte... that accidentally came out as a seven layer tower of sugar ... when my egg whites wouldn't peak, and my cake turned out to be brownies when the leavening failed. (It was pretty good anyway, but my god... the SUGAR!) Don't ask me to make you butter cookies. I'm still smarting from the last episode.
