    My guess is with the saltyness, is that you should use unsalted butter in the recipe. I used salted butter, but did cut back the salt to about 1 tsp. But overall, this cake was just so-so, not great, but not bad. A little dry considering all the butter in it. When I think about the fat and calories in this, I would rather go with a cheesecake!

    I agree with everyone here, great recipe but the amount of salt is way off. I used 1 tsp and it turned out wonderful. Skipped the almond extract and added some lemonjuice instead. Made a lemon glaze for the top.

    Sorry for the lack of recipes and responses lately, I am in the middle of moving to a new house and do not have regular access to a computer. In a week of two everything should be back up to speed, and I am planning to post a few more favorite recipes of my family. Thanks.

    hello!i am in dispare as someone has bought me an american cook book for my birthday concerning cake mixes with or without pudding and i have absolutely no idea what pudding is? can u help me at all? i would be so grateful! also wats the diffrence from white cake mix and yellow cake mix!?

    You should really take the time to learn pottery.. I am what is called a handbuilder and rather build that way then use a wheel
    I love the feel of clay and I have found making bread so much easier after pounding at clay for hours
