About me
I live in Rapid City, South Dakota, so I get to try a lot of wild game and fish, although I can't say game is my favorite. I love to cook and I never seem to make anything twice or make anything the same twice, therefore I am starting to write my recipes down as I make one's I like. I am a very creative cook, as my budget will allow. I don't like to have to shop for a bunch of stuff that I wouldn't normally have on hand or use up. I guess I'm frugal, don't like to throw things out. I like to use as many fresh ingredients as I can, and try to cook seasonal dishes. One of my favorite foods is shellfish, but I have developed an allergy and it makes me very ill to eat any type of shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. This has made me very sad. I grew up in farm country in Illinois and ate a lot of comfort food there. It is still my favorite in the winter. In the summer I like cold soups, gazpacho is my favorite, fresh vegetable dishes, I don't do a lot of grilling. Fall has to be my favorite because I can start cooking slow dishes again in my kitchen and enjoy the heat it produces. Once I have a little more time I will start putting some of my recipes in here.
