About me
Enjoy cooking, Love to Bake. Am a Cookbook Junkie. In fact like the Movie Conspiracy Theory when I go into a store I don't feel complete unless I come away with a new one. LOL Passion lately has been trying to gather recipes from my Grandparents who are all gone now as well as my Moms. Though it has been difficult I have enjoyed it very much. In Fact just the other day I received a recipe from one of my Great Great Greats. How Thrilling is That. This Has taught me that recipes are a very important part of family History. Nothing makes you feel closer to your ancestors than reading or making a recipe they made long before you even existed. This venture that started off with one or two recipes has grown by leaps and bounds and looks like it will not be stopping anytime soon. As A friend of mine is fond of saying its been a slice.!!!!

Thanks for being my buddy!

Nice for you to be a cooking buddy. What would we do without steel refrigerator doors so we can keep track of all those little notes of paper messages, coupons, pics, :-) Hope you find a recipe of mine worth trying. Merry Christmas, JJ Nice pic of you and your mom.

I have a recipe close to your Nova Scotian Brown Bread Recipe that I was passed from my grand mother that calls for "enough flour to make a hard loaf" and have been looking for other recipies similar to mine, and yours is the only one I've found so far. I had guessed it to be of German origin. Now I'm questing both for other recipes like this and origin of them. THANKS!

Hi Sher and thank you for you comments on my Polish Honey Cake Or Babka Recipe. It really is lovely and is a great cake to place on a large assorted sweet plate for guests. Hope you like it!
P.S. I just picked up your comment on my Scones recipe from the Isle of Skye and thank you for that. They too are delish and a must try.

I can see us enjoying this on a cold winter's night curled up in front of the fireplace! YUM!

Molasses Taffy A Family A
I made this years ago, when I was a kid. It's very good and a lot of fun too. It does bring back memories, just reading about it. I can't wait to try it again.

I haven't ever heard of something like this--how do you know it is done?
