About me
All my life I wanted to be a chef. When I was 12 I received Julia Child's cookbook from my uncle... a gourmet himself. Although it was a little beyond me at that time, it inspired me and made me feel that someone was taking me seriously. Well, as we all know... Life happens and I'm now 39 and am not a famous chef!!! However, in the last 10 years or so I have been feeling my passion for cooking being reignited! I've always enjoyed cooking for family, enjoyed entertaining (although not too much opportunity for that too!) it seems to be really ramping up! I now find myself being creative! I've always preferred reading a recipe and then cooking the dish my own way... but now I find myself inventing... It can be very exciting! I hope to share some of those inventions here and get most valuable feedback!

Hello Sherryman! I stumbled upon your name by doing a search for fellow Canucks, specifically Quebecors. Your profile blurb could just as easily have been mine. I'm 36 and toyed with the idea of finally following my passion and going into catering but the economy took a downward spin and I had to face the harsh fact that I am a cook, not a business woman. There's just too much financial/marketing/technical stuff that I don't know and don't care enough to learn. I thought, if someday I met someone with smarts who could run things while I play in the kitchen, great! But until then, I'll stick to impressing friends and family with my inventions and enjoying their praise. Besides, when people start paying for your food they seem to become far more demanding and I hate restrictions! I like knowing that guests eat what I serve them and they have no choice but to appreciate it. ;)
Do share some of your more inventive ideas. I can share mine, too. And there are some wonderfully inventive foodies on this utility - Dond and luisacatering for starters. If they're not added to your list already, find them.
