About me
I'm a stay-at-home mom to 3 boys, ages 6, 3 and 2. I love being at home. I love to cook, but struggle w/ finding the time to do so and also finding new and creative things to make. The only meat I really eat is a little bit of chicken and sometimes some bacon, but my husband loves meat, so I'm conflicted. :)

Hi! Yes, our kids are about the same age. I am 32, so we are about the same age too. Fondant is so much fun! Its like playing with playdough. You definitely want to start out with store bought fondant. Don't try to make your own until you are used to working with it. Go buy a hunk of it at the local craft store. The Wilton brand is what I use. I can make it, but its a pain. Be sure to get a fondant rolling mat when you buy the fondant. It should be with the cake stuff at the craft store. I will post some basic directions on my food page so that I don't take up your message board. You'll love it. Most people don't like the taste, but it has buttercream under it, so you can peel it off before you eat the cake. Good luck!


Hi Shoebearsmom! I understand what you say about finding time to cook with three young kids at home. I have the same problem! In your picture, you look like a teenager :). Oh, and when it comes to cake decorating, I love to teach it and I am happy to give any tips I know, like the right kinds of icings to use, the right consistency for what design and whatnot. Please feel free to ask me any question any time and I want to see pictures if you do some cake decorating! Sometimes the cutest cakes are home made! Thanks for the compliment! Your local craft store might offer decorating classes too. We're definitely making the taffy apple donuts for Halloween. They sound great!
