About me
I'm an organic gardener/small scale farmer living near Boulder, Colorado. I grow a lot of our family's food - tons of different varieties of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, sweet potatoes, Asian beans and greens, peas, strawberries raspberries and much more - including lots of unusual things, such as trombone squash, naranjilla, and Mexican mouse melons! I even grow some of my own grains, such as millet and amaranth. I also grow a large variety of herbs that I use in my cooking, and for herbal teas. I'm a mom to a five year old boy who has never set foot inside a McDonalds. His favourite foods include broccoli and grapefruit. I love cooking Indian food, and we eat a lot of it. I also love making bread, and soups. I'm not a vegetarian, but very rarely eat meat.

Love the picture of the tortoise-is it yours?

Thanks for the friend request! Love your fresh outlook and the fact that your son has never been to McD's! Excellent. Can't wait to try some of your recipes!

That's wonderful about your connection to Squamish! I've actually just moved from there (haven't been on here lately...need to update my profile!) My partner and I are heading up north to Terrace, BC.
I love that your son has never been inside a McDonalds....you've described exactly how I want to raise our children (when we have them) :)

Thanks for your comment on garlic Honey... I hope you try it very soon.
We have one of our best friends who is from Colorado... she is great and she lives in Colombia loooong time ago!
Have a great day.
Annie

Thanks so much for the invite... I am happy to accept. Your bio is great and I look forward to also learning more about the veg that you grow. Having just recently moved back to Florida I am re-learning what/when to plant and start my seeds growing. We just discovered something that will make our gardening here easier and that is a thing called an Earth Box. Welcome and thanks again for the invite! ~~Dee

Just read your bio -- you are one energetic lady! Good for you with the MacDonald's thing! My son rarely got to go there either, so he used to think he loved it. Until he was able to go on his own accord, when he realized he got sick every time he ate there! Now at 24, he wouldn't step foot near the place!

Hi! Thank you for the invite. I would be pleased to have you as a friend! Is that your turtle? He's awesome!

I'm really impressed by your collection of recipes so far! Thank you so much for the friend invite!

Potato And Lovage Soup
Sounds great!

Bulgur Walnut Salad
I bet it would be great with quinoa! If you make it that way, be sure to let me know how it is!

Nasturtium Butter
No, I haven't done it yet with borage, but thanks for the idea! I have billions of volunteer borage plants out in the gardens.

Nasturtium Butter
Interesting post!

Nasturtium Butter
I use lots of compound butters in the restaurant. This is a wonderful idea, and using the flowers as a garnish would add a very classy finish. Have you ever done this with bo
