About me
I'm a stay-at-home mom to 2 little russians! We adopted Gabby and Duncan in 2004 when Gabby was 25 months (15.5 pounds/28") and Duncan was 8.5 months (18 pounds, 24"). Gabby is now in kindergarten and Duncan is enjoying mommy-alone time! Gabby has 1 celiac gene so I do MOSTLY gluten free cooking and I'm able to adapt many "regular" recipes to gf fairly well/easily. I used to be a "part-time nanny" for a number of families over 20 years before adopting our children. Steve & I have been married since 1992. We have 2 cats: Tigre (1993) and Kenai (2002). Tigre is a dog in a cat's body--fetches, begs, etc. Kenai is the typical scardy-cat! We live in a suburb of Detroit. I went to Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA for my degree in broadcasting with a minor in Spanish. I love languages...teaching the kids counting in Spanish, French, German, Russian and Japanese as well as English! We are also branching out into colors in those languages now. Duncan loves the "language games!" We are members of Kensington Community Church & have been almost since their beginning! Steve & I met there in 1991. Merry Christmas...celebrate Christ's birth in a GRAND way! :o)

Hi~ Thanks for wanting to be my cooking buddy. I was sorry to hear that your son has Celiac Spru... My mother in law also suffers from this. I've made many fun treats for her glutten free! I've used a lot of rice flour and no flour at all... Hope you had a special Christmas!

You be careful out there as well in this blizzard. My kids have all been sick this week, so they are giving me grief because I don't want them to go out and play in the snow. So, I brought the snow to them! Big bowls of it from the backyard and they are having fun playing with it at the kitchen table. My youngest, 3 year old boy keeps making tiny snowballs and throwing them at his big sisters 14 & 12! Check out the new recipie that I added for Russian Hot Pot. My husband is Russian just like your little ones!

Thanks for friending me! The Chocolate Spice cookies are good, but were experimental, so I guessed a little while transcribing it, so it may take a little fussing- but in my experience, when dealing with chocolate, it's hard to make a mistake, just a different than intended outcome! Your daughter sounds lovely! My mom used to make us pasta like that when we didn't want tomato sauce. :) I look forward to sharing recipes with you!

Hello, would a potato crust be gluten free? I know your looking for one for a Quiche Recipe. If so look under my Smoked salmon and Goat cheese Quiche and there is a recipe there for a potato pie crust. Efitobx added it under alterations
