About me
I'm a newlywed foodie living in beautiful Alaska. Getting fresh ingredients up here can be a bit of a problem up here, so I've definitely learned to get more creative and to adapt my recipes and methods to what's available. I love to cook with my husband -- we're both foodies and enjoy taking turns playing sous chef for each other. I also love to cook with my camera -- I have taken all of the photos I've posted here and love how creative one can get with food photography. I'm super-cynical and mistrusting of the food industry. I'm not about to think that a company with its profit in mind will make food that is truly healthy or nourishing for me. Good food takes time and effort, but it's so worth it.

Looking forward to trying your recipes...I'm going Vegan/Vegetarian...beginning stages...meat won't be the issue but salmon will. Love veggies and looking forward to learning about all the spices...and alternatives to dairy products. How long have you been on Group Recipes??

Our King Salmon has been running here for about 3 weeks so far they are still really really red, it is time though for them to start changing and looking pretty beat up, but we got quite a few in the freezer and then the Silver Salmon will be coming soon which are my favorite.

I love your recipes, I've made your herb bird a few times now.

Hi stacey - i've only tried the asparagus soup with the addition of chives. i agree with you that most herbes would be overwhelming. i'll have to do some cooking to see now, what might work.. if you get to it before me let me know of your results.
