Hey suebear! i think a hand mixer should be fine- just make sure not to beat it for too long. stop as soon as it's smooth. i've made them a few times and haven't messed up yet, so i bet it won't be a problem at all. happy cooking :)

Well, my husband works long hours and with me being in graduate school the crockpot has been a total blessing! I love the site too because it helps me come up with ideas for dinners. We actually tried your country ribs this past weekend and the previous weekend we did 5 lb turkey recipe that I stumbled across on here. It was great! Excellent for sandwiches too! I've been skimming through and looking over the weekend because I can do something at the beginning of the week and left overs make great lunches for hubby! :)

Thanks for the great idea on the crock pot ribs - never tried with more than 2 lbs and never tried without searing first, or the longer cooking. This is why I love this site!

Thanks for the comment about the walnuts with the apple crisp. I've been wanting to do something like that lately so it's an option to surely consider. I appreciate the feedback!

Okay, thanks! I wasn't sure if you couldn't do it, that was my big question. LOL! It's something I might try however. Thanks for the reply. :)

Suebear, I've never tried cooking my goulash recipe on low, but it probably wouldn't more than 3 or 3 1/2 hours.
