Tahnks for the welcome. I lived in Mississippi durring the 90's and went dear hunting there with a small hunting team. It was 18 degrees with no sun but I had a blast. All through my childhood my brothers and I would hunt squirrels and such on weekends. I would like to live more out in the country.
Speaking of cooking over a fire, a chef named Walter Staib has a fine cookbook coming out called The City Tavern Cookbook all about cooking over an open flame like they did in the 1700s in New England.
