Hi! I went to Chowhound.com and found a restaurant in Bakersfield that serves dim sum. Here's the comment and the restaurant info for you. And thanks for the Friend's Invitation!
This article was written in 2007. I hope that this place is still around!
    "Dim Sum In Bakersfield
I was thumbing through a Chinese language restaurant magazine (ignore the fact that I don't read Chinese) when among the ads for Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, I spied a full page ad for this place in Bakersfield, Grandview Asian Cuisine. Not only were there color pictures of favorite dim sum items staring back at me, but apparently the chef is some kind of prize winning Chinese kitchenmaster. While I knew that there was a historic Chinese population in Bakersfield (I believe Ming Ave. is named after a local Chinese agricultural pioneer), I found the idea of a quality Chinese restaurant in Bakersfield serving dim sum to be beyond belief. Hopping into my car and driving to Bakersfield (well not immediately) it indeed appears to be true. Arriving just before the restaurant closed for its hiatus between dim sum and dinner, the dim sum selection was limited. But based on the samples I had, this was comparable to the stuff we can get back in Los Angeles. Grandview Asian Cuisine is at 2217 Ashe Road, just off the intersection with Ming Ave.

Cinnamon told me that you were looking for good dim sum in Los Angeles. I know two great places. (She asked me to write to you.) The first one is downtown L.A. called Ocean Seafood Restaurant. They have a huge dining area and have just about anything you could ask for. The second place is in Gardena, CA, off the 105 freeway on Redondo Beach Blvd. Its called "Empress Gardens/Seafood. Its in the Pacific Marketplace. They also have dim sum served all afternoon. If you want to take out some dim sum, both places will box it up for you. Ocean Restaurant has a small take out shop on the first floor. Also, just to take out dim sum, there's the Hong Kong Deli in Torrance where I go about every two weeks. They have all kinds of dim sum and fresh char sui or bbq'd pork and duck. Their duck baos are really good! They're right off the 110 Freeway near Harbor General Hospital. Hope you get to one of these places. They're all great!

I have no idea who has dim sum in Bakersfield.
