About me
I am a stay-at-home mother of 6 children. Three of which are still young and I homeschool them. I also have a 2 yr. old grandson. I enjoy baking more than cooking. I am into baking with more whole grains and I am open to trying new ones that I haven't yet baked much with such as spelt and quinoa. I love to make muffins, breads, and energy bars. I am in search of whole grain recipes that my family will love. I am really trying to keep the white sugar and white flour to a bare minimum. I'm trying to include baking with honey, agave syrup, or maple syrup instead of sugar and brown sugar as they are so much better for you. I would really love to find some whole grain artisan bread recipes like I see in the grocery stores. They sell them for over $4 a loaf and they include preservatives and additives...not good. So I really would like to make my own. Got one??? Let me know. I have also recently started to do RAW juicing (with fruits and vegetables), but not consistently. I already do love smoothies. They are so good and good for you!

Many thanks for the address to the wholegrain place, I will visit and search through it for I also want to learn more on how to use the many grains we now have on hand.
I also want to learn more about the coconut oil you tell me. I don´t know nothing about it so I will ask for it at my healthy store and see what they have on information and availability about this oil.
Have a nice week.

It would be my pleasure to be your cooking buddy¡¡ I think we have so many things in common, at least about cooking and ingredients...
I can see you´re a pretty busy woman and think you know very well how to handle your home after 6 children. I only have 2, girl and boy, 26 and 30 years old and now I´m enjoying our life as my husband is pre-retired and we both have now lots of time for ourselves. I enjoy cooking and Patchwork and as you do, also try to make my cooking healthier and lighter, although I have a sweet tooth I try to restrain myself and to use as many natural sweeteners (and lesser amount) as I can and only whole spelt flour is in my pantry for about two years now. I´m also experimenting with quinoa, millet and of course all kind of whole grains I have on hand. They´re pretty good, you just only have to start to use little by little and then you´ll soon find yourself eating lots of interesting new and healthy food.
OK, lets start our sharing of goodies... Best regards.

So nice your comments and I´m sooo glad that you liked the Agave Syrup - Multi Grain Blueberry Muffins...
Yes, you´re right agave syrup is expensive and I think that you could halve the amount of syrup and use the other half part of brown sugar or just use brown sugar instead of the syrup.
My option for agave syrup is due to healthy reasons, so I use it since I want to stuck to a low-carb but still healthy and yummy diet as much as I can by the meaning of using whole grains and flour, Stevia and agave syrup as sweeteners, i.e. complex carbs with low GI and so on...
Thanks again for your visit and comments. My best wishes for you and all your loved ones.

Thanks for the comment on the muffins. I made them just the other day for the first time and my family loved them. I didn't get to try one though because that's too high calorie for me. But I like your healthy alternative so I'll try them again that way.
