About me
I follow a gluten free diet so I am always looking for great gluten free recipes! I will eat most everything but eat little processed foods these days- it's an occasional treat. I am currently looking for a truly great cuban bread & pan cubano recipe that is gluten free! I miss cuban sandwiches from miami, ADORE cuban food.

Hello,
Check out this web site http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com she has a lot of recipes you could go through to get ideas. Also, have you ever thought about Injera as a bread subsitute? You could have a softer bread to soak up all those nice seasonings from the ingredients.

I understand the Cuban Sandwich thing, I recently purchased a book from Daisy Martinez that has a great Cuban Sandwich in it, but I just end up cheating and going to Paseo Caribbean Restaurant, located in the area called Fremont here in Seattle

Be well,
Annie

I haven't made my own yeast breads yet..I have made pancakes, waffles and corn bread that all taste like they were made with wheat.. I still haven't got past that point.. but the weather is a little cooler so I'm more apt to use the oven.. Glad to have you as a friend.

Thank you for being my cooking friend.. I'm glad you have joined the Wheat Free group. I hope we get more bread and cookie type recipes in there... I see O-crazy suggested Bobs red mill. I have gotten some of the individual flours and been pleased. I haven't tried any mixes because I like to mix my own..I look forward to sharing recipes with you

Hi...just found another gluten free supplier as I was looking for flax seed. The prices seem a lot kinder than the other one. Check it out and see if it's better. http://www.bobsredmill.com/gluten_free_info.php
Hope this helps. They may even have a store near you that sells their products, or you can send for them.

Thank you!! I miss good crusty cuban & italian bread along with cuban sandwiches the most. Thank you so much for the link.

Hi, Here is a site that sells Gluten Free flour, they also have recipes, maybe you could bake your own Pan Cubano, there are many recipes for it if you google it. Hope this helps. http://www.glutenfreeflour.com/products.asp#ingrediants
