Thanks Toffeeapple. I remembered as a kid it was explained to me that mincemeat was mainly fruits and such (I know weird right?). When I looked up recipes for minced meat online those too showed a lot of fruits and such in the mix, which I know isn't sold up here. Being that the recipe came from australia I wanted to make sure what she called minced meat was what we call minced meat because I also had heard that minced meat, back in the day, WAS meat but because of cost people started adding more fruits and such to get the same flavor. Not sure how true that is, infact I've never had the stuff to even compare the two.
