I've lived, mostly and happily, alone since 1979 and have no plans whatsoever to change that status by choice. Like everyone else, I've been through stages where I've avoided the cooking for one routine by keeping the phone numbers of every pizza and Indian food delivery service right by the phone. :) This does not work in the long term, because your health as well as your purse, suffers badly, even if you don't get sick of it. Becoming poor, moving to a country and an area where these things simply are not available, were excellent motivators to finally get my cooking act together. However, it was not until my father died in 2001 and I found myself being called upon for single-living household and cooking tips from my own mother that I realized that I may have gathered some experience worthy to share.
