About me
I am from Germany and a mother of 4 girls ages 8-25. The oldest is to enter med school and the 2nd is folowing me in nursing. I have been a pediatric nurse for many years and currently work in a pedi emergency dept for the county. I think I have seen it all!. Hard wok but interesting. I look forward to holiday celebrations esp. Christmas. Over the years we have evolved a large Cristmas Eve gathering of friends and family and focus on celebrating many different Christmas traditions from as many countries as we can. Of course Germany is a major contender when it comes to food choices but we usually acknowledge about 15 countries and thier traditional Christmas foods. Our friends come from many backgrounds and bring whatever comfy food from their past that they can think of. It makes for an interesting evening and good discussion topics for those that are just being introduced for the first time. I investigate and practice cooking techniques of many cultures throughout the year. My family has adapted well to this. The question instead of what's for dinner is now from where is dinner from is commonplace. Good things the kids are adventerous. I also try to focus on high nutrition and healthy dishes. We use a lot of organic products and healthy olive and coconut oil. Yes, coconut oil is healthy. The polynesians call it the tree of life. I am always open to new concepts and dishes and am forever expanding my "to do " list. Looking forward to meeting all the foodies I can. These seems like a fun forum.
