About me
Hi! Let's eradicate hunger from this world. That's my motto. I am a Chef by profession. So I hope I can contribute some recipes and learn a whole bunch from all you guys. Since I am Chef, I can't afford not to taste all kinds of foods. I am not against any kind of food. I should call myself Pescatarian. I cook all kinds of food at work but I really love Veggies & Seafood. I've a wonderful & caring husband. Our marriage was an arranged marriage and we've been happily married for 12 yrs now. Cooking is my passion. My mom, my dad, my grandmother, my dad's side grandmother and my great grandmother and my uncles are all great cooks. I always strive to better myself. I keep collecting cookbooks from all around the world and keep updating myself by taking courses to better myself and as and when I can. I have a Master's in English Literature, Diploma in Homeopathy medicine and in Journalism. My 1st job was as a Medical & Legal Transcriptionist. After coming to this country until I got my Green card I volunteered my time in the Library, Recreation center, Tibetan Aid Project, Hindu Cultural Society, Vincent de Paul, Mills Pennisula hospital and Ronald McDonald house. Meanwhile, I did some computer programming courses and I thought, that's not for me. My 1st job in this country was as a Customer service agent in Macy's. After that, I tried my hand on several things but felt I am meant to do something else. My friends helped me realize my passion for cooking and then told me to start a catering service, I did. I owned and managed a Vegetarian catering service for about 3 years. It was really successful and the demand was really good but it became big and the place I was renting couldn't handle that much demand and being in the Bay area, its phenomenally expensive to rent another place and I wanted something close to my house and that was not feasible with my budget. So, I took a break, went to Culinary program through www.Jobtrianworks.org formerly OICW. My Chef instructor, Adam Weiner was the ultimate teacher anybody could ever have. He is still my inspiration. It was a hands on training program with a working restaurant in the front and I didn't have to pay a penny!!!! I am telling this because people out there who really want to have a career in the Food industry should try some program like this in your local community. If you have the right kind of attitude and dedication, you can achieve your dreams. Our family's ultimate goal is to open a Global vegetarian restaurant. Until that happens, I am working as a Chef and a Food consultant for Bon Appetit and I am also a Restaurant & Food Critic. Latest update: I was working for BAMCO and worked as a Chef and a Food consulstant @ Ebay. Then I became pregnant so I quit my job. Now, we have a daughter and for now I am a full time mom. Loved reading your bio..let's be friends!

Thanks for your punch recipe! I made if for my square dance club this past Saturday night. (We each have the "refreshment responsibility" at least once every half a year.) Everyone's punch is usually the same... I like being different and making different things. The punch was delicious!! =) Fortunately, I had plenty of ingredients-- I doubled your recipe to begin with, and I went through *THREE* batches of the doubled quantity. That's NEVER happened to me before! I omitted the bananas and used raspberries and blueberries as the fruit. I also added vanilla ice cream. I can't wait to make it again. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for being my cooking friend.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the tips on ghee!

Hello again. Do you know any tricks for preventing ghee from hardening too much in the refrigerator? I love to cook with it, but it's no treat trying to pry it out of the jar. You seemed like someone who would know.

Thank you. We like it. Good day for it here. Rainy and raw.
