I'm hoping you had a chance to try the rootbeer cake=D I was little surprised at the rootbeer flavor not being real strong and I think I will add rootbeer extract, about 1/2 t., next time I make it. I usually don't remake something that I didn't absolutely fall in love with the first time but I really liked the idea of this cake. . .=D

About the bird's nest pudding..I cannot alter it in any way as it would than not be a verbatim authentic recipe. The cooks at the time knew how to make these things so whwn they published then they had no need to instruct. So we just have to experiment to get it right.
