Sorry to hear you haven't been able to put as much time into cooking as you'd like lately, but busy with work is a good thing :-) I hope you enjoy the muffins and your day tomorrow!

Thank you for the compliment on my Bourbon Chicken! "Cornstarch and water slurry" - a cornstarch slurry is used thicken a sauce or soup and is a mixture of equal parts cornstarch and cold liquid (mixed until smooth), in this case water. I hope this info is helpful! Please let me know if you have any other questions :)

Regarding the summer pasta.. I'm thinking, maybe just more salt and pepper when tossing the pasta in the butter? I'll have to think about it some more. Thanks for being so gracious.

On the herb garden, thanks so much for the additional info! I have been considering an aerogarden b/c I'm worried about my lack of green thumb.. They are expensive though. I have also been checking out one of the stands at our local farmer's market - they have these planters with 3 types of herbs growing (not just seeds) for $15 so I might give that a try to see how I do. Yes, I'm in Detroit. Luckily, even when it's the colder season I do get some good sunlight from my windows so that's a plus. Thanks so much!

Awesome! :) I think it depends on how formal your boys gathering is... in general, I suppose, i'd say pick it for a girl's lunch or night, but it's certainly hearty enough for the boys with the grilled mushrooms! :) If you search my recipes under "football", you'll find several more than we have, here, that the boys love! :) As for the beach... hmmm.... foods that won't spoil are tougher, but I've got a few. Summer Fruit With Spiced Lime Dressing or Minted Melon Salad served in short, wide plastic cups would be refreshing and appropriate... and I have a couple cold veggie salads that might work.... The Black Eyed Peas Meet The Chili Peppers .... or ...... Steelers Salad.... Good luck and have fun, no matter what you pick! :) :)

Thank you so much, this is an old picture of her - 2 years ago. She no longer fits into that costume and doesn't care much for being dressed up, but sometimes I do it anyway ;-) Well he can be a cowboy and you can be a cowgirl! compromise hehe
